Glasses complete the circle
I tell you, wearing glasses for the first time makes you feel lousy. I have to carefully step around, something always itches your nose bridge, even wearing a headphone is uncomfortable. As surya points out, these imported ‘precision’ eye test equipments are no good. Or those in-house optometrists are incompetent. I had my eyes tested three times and each time they had a different power.
GKB opticals:
Right eye
SPH - 1.00, CYL - 0.50, AXIS - 120
Left eye
SPH - 0.50, CYL - 0.75, AXIS - 15
Lawrence & Mayo:
Right eye
SPH - 0. 75, CYL - 0.25, AXIS - 140
Left eye
SPH - 0.50, CYL - 0.25, AXIS - 10
I was naturally unconvinced even after one optometrist claimed that it’s not that much of a difference. So, I decided to consult a real deal. I went to Sankara Nethralaya, near Mandaveli. If you are not careful, these guys can turn you into a light fearing Vampire. They dilated my pupils three times! Even when I couldn’t open my eyelids without squinting. Merciless. The optometrist tested me twice and gave this prescription which was again not close to anywhere near to the earlier tests.
Sankara Nethralaya:
Right eye
SPH - 1.25, CYL - Nil, AXIS - Nil
Left eye
SPH - 1.00, CYL - 0.50, AXIS - 180
I hope they are correct this time. They charged me 350 bucks!

I won’t wear glasses that’s falsely diagnosed and make it even worse. And the frames make me look evil. I hope Ragha stays out of my way now.

Evil is good.
Wearing headphones with glasses is uncomfortable, yes.

Glasses aren’t going to keep Ragha away from you. In fact you should be worried more since he has something extra to break now apart from your bones.

Ragha isn’t that bright. Why are you giving him ideas?!

So that we can have fun watching you get beaten up?

how you are so sure that the glasses prescribed by shakar netralaya is perfect only because they dilated your pupil thrice i recommend you go to another eye hospital to examine once more to know that you have got right power infact now you should visit few more places for eyetesting and when you have all the different prescription decide by trying which gives you the best vision.

I’m sure you will be amazed at my fighting skills the next time we meet for a showdown. I will flee!!
February 18th, 2008 at 3:31 pm
That’s the sensible thing for you to do.
February 18th, 2008 at 7:58 pm
But he won’t.
February 19th, 2008 at 1:15 am
Yeah he never learns, does he? Suicidal bugger goes and attacks Ragha.
February 19th, 2008 at 2:08 am
Once Ragha breaks something he will learn.

[...] Glasses are such a pain when you have to wear a helmet. You’ll have to take off glasses, put them in your pocket or on the seat of the bike, put on your helmet and then wear the glasses again. Very annoying when you have to run errands and end up doing this over and over again. What is weird is that Arun never realised his eyesight had degraded until he went and tested his eyesight. [...]

My kneecap is intact. I’m growing invincible like him. I shall be his nemesis! *Roiling clouds gathering, Multi pronged lightning crashes in the backdrop*

Sudershan’s comment was released from Askimnet spam blocker.
Sudershan, Sankara Nethralaya is a well known eye hospital here. They tested once without dilating and followed with another test after dilating the pupils to check if there’s any change in power. Another dilation was necessary for the Ophthalmologist to check my eyes overall. They sat the whole testing patiently, changing lenses and stuff, and let me go only when they were sure that this was my eye power.
The first two tests were not this thorough. And if I take your advice, I’ll have to keep on testing as the results depend on how good the optometrist is and the conditions under which the testing is done.

You are not Mandark. Only Mandark gets the lightning effects.

So does Ragha!

Lightning has sense to step around carefully whenever Ragha is there. It’d never want to steal his thunder, you know.
