The Dark Knight Strikes In IMAX

Awesome!!

Damn, damn… and damn again! The photos cannot get anymore slicker than this. And if you haven’t noticed Batman’s got a new suit, better than the one in ‘The Batman begins’. Yes, the new movie is allegedly shot in IMAX. Typically, the feature films that play in IMAX theaters are simply stretched out to fill the enormous screens that can dilute the picture quality and give the movie a wide, squat look.

Since we seem not to have those IMAX theaters here, in traditional theatres, the scenes will appear more vivid (think HD television standard). And shooting in this format is difficult. IMAX film, which is 10 times the size of standard film stock, is costly and must be shot using bulky cameras.

I just hope that Christopher Nolan doesn’t screw it up and rather stick to the story. But the images tend to brush your apprehensions away like they are dust on a brand new Batpod!! Take a look. The bad ass Batpod.

Here’s the description of the monstrous bike from the LA times. The tires “are both a monstrously huge 508 millimeters, and the engines are in the hubs of each wheel. Steering isn’t by hand but by shoulder, since there aren’t handlebars. Instead, there are shields that fit each arm like sleeves and have the ability to rotate around the bike’s frame. The two foot pegs are set 3 1/2 feet apart on either side of the tank, which the rider lies on, belly down.” COOL!!

And finally this posture reminds me the quote - ‘I am vengeance. I am the night. I am Batman.’ (Courtesy: Marc who says he remembered it from Batman, the animated series). The movie hits theaters on July 18th, 2008.

No fair! I found the first pictures of that bike. And I was the one who messaged you that quote a few days back.

From now on I claim monopoly on all Batman related news, you plagiarist.

The movie is slated to release only in 2008 though.

Marc, I accidentally found those pictures. You didn’t show me those pictures anyway. About the quote, what I meant is the posture, crouching on the porch like that, goes well with the quote YOU messaged a few days back..

  3. Marc Says:

I mailed some people pictures of the bike actually. Must have missed you.

And you should have mentioned me. I had to go to a Batman: The Animated Series fansite to get the exact quote. The way he says it at the beginning to the cartoon is also awesome.

I want to see him do that Y-M-C-A dance in that costume. Ha ha, that cracks me up.

  5. Marc Says:

    Dude! That’s just disturbing.

  6. Arun Says:

I like him grim and gritty, not dumb and nutty. :)

  7. George Says:

Actually, on second thought. I’d rather he didn’t do that. That would be some scary shit.

  8. George Says:

    You know what? UPDATE!

  9. Marc Says:

    Yeah, you lazy bastard!

  10. George Says:

Dude, now it’s half a year ago. You’ve gone too far with your laziness. This is unpardonable.

What is he trying? Competing with Sanchan?
